FAQs

What are the benefits of joining Cofacio?

Joining Cofacio allows you to help others, get help and earn good will points which you can then use to support a good cause. If you’re a member we’ll alert you when people comment on your posts or reply to your comments, you'll also be able to add help alerts and create a profile to tell people a little more about you. These are just the first of a whole list of developments we've got in the pipeline for our registered users. If you’ve any ideas you'd like us to consider for improving the site please mail us on development@cofacio.com.

How do I get help?

To get help just write what you need help with in the orange get help box and hit the get help button. You'll be taken to a results page where we'll show you people who may be able to help. Decide who you want to ask for help, write them a note and we'll let them know that you've asked for their advice.

How do I give help?

To give help just write what you can help with in the green give help box and hit the give help button. You'll be taken to a results page where we'll show you people you may be able to help. Decide who you want to help, write them a note and we'll let them know that you'd like to help out.

How do I earn good will points?

You can earn good will points by using Cofacio to help others and get help. If people thank you then you get points, if you add an image, set up help alerts or offer to help then we'll also give you points.

How do I get fund points?

Fund points appear in the blue box on the top navigation bar. Every time you reach a certain number of good will points we give you a set number of fund points.

How do I support a cause?

Once you have fund points you can then support the cause of your choice. You can do this by visiting the cause page and hitting the support button. Each time you hit support we'll add 10 fund points to that project's fund total and you'll be making it 10 fund points closer to happening.

Will what I'm looking to get or give help with be public?

Cofacio is all about sharing so all posts are made public. However, you can choose to post anonymously if you wish, in fact we've designed Cofacio so that you can tell others only what you see to be necessary. It's like meeting new people in the real world, you don't have to know someone's name to start a conversation and help them out.

How much information do I need to put on my posts?

We'll show posts with just one word on them but it's a good idea to try to add as much information as possible. That way other users will have a better idea of what you're looking for or offering help with. We prioritise results on relevancy but we do give greater importance to registered user's posts with more information on them.

Will I be spammed if I leave an email on the site?

We do everything we can to prevent spammers accessing the information shown on our site but we do recommend taking care when leaving any personal contact information anywhere on the web. We think it's useful to have a second email address for use on social and public websites.

How can I get my posts listed higher on the search results?

We rank results on relevance but we do take into account the amount of user information posts have, if the user is registered and the level of comments they receive. We continuously work on improving result relevance.

Is my settings information made public?

The information you enter in About You is public and is shown in your user profile. Your Picture is also public and will appear automatically on any posts or comments that you add while being signed in. Information you enter in the Your Account section is private and used for site operations only.

Why haven't I received an email telling me about a reply?

Please look at the Your Account tab in Settings to check the email we have is correct. After that you may wnat to try checking in your spam or junk folder as sometimes mails may be labeled spam by mistake.

What does Cofacio mean?

We made it up joining the prefix 'co' with the latin word 'facio' because Cofacio is all about getting together to do things. Facio in Latin means to do, make, create, acquire and cause. You can find the definition here.

What if my question isn't answered here?

If you haven't found the information you're looking for here then you could try having a look on the site, it's a help engine so hopefully someone can help you out. Alternatively, you can write to us at faq@cofacio.com with your question and we will endeavour to reply or post your question with the answer here on the site.
