making pastry. I made some pastry for the top of my apple pie, but it was a bit too crumbly, disintegrating when I rolled it out. Any ideas what I did wrong? PS I used dairy free marg

    slightly too dry? If this happens I wet my hands and squish it together again.. Never tried making it with dairy free marg though by MandaR

    Dairy free marge shouldn't effect it - could need more liquid but also did you refridgerate it before trying to roll it out? by heatherannetaylor

    Yep, I hardly used any water and no I didn't refrigerate (husband wanted apple pie quickly). Will try again soon. by soosy

    Keeping it cold will help to keep it together, if not refrigerating, you could use ice cold water when making it and a marble rolling pin and board. by Anytar
