Yep, there are some great parks for children in Alicante and the beaches to the south of Torrevieja itself are lovely - reminded me of Miami (without the posers). My 2 boys love it. It can get a bit too busy in the summer months though by soosy

Walking is cheap and the Lake DIstrict is full of wonderful scenery. Pick up a book by A. Wainwright from your local library for some great suggestions for walks. by soosy
