I keep having to replace my kitchen tap because it leaks - it ends up turning around and leaking at the feeds; I don't want to buy another tap - anyone know what the problem is

There's a locking nut, usually plastic, under the sink that holds the tap in place. This needs to be really tight to stop the tap turning. If its awkward to get to, you can buy a flexible tap spanner. by arbymore

My husband agrees with arbymore above. But you may have a fancy "continental" style tap (small diameter feed pipes). On these the tap is clamped to the worktop usually by a metal plate and a deep metal nut. This never seems to work very well so it relies on friction between the plate and the bottom of the worktop. If it is this type you could try adding a couple of washers under the nut so that it can squeeze the plate against the worktop more tightly. by soosy

Thanks arbymoore it was the locking nut that was causing the tap to spin around - i took it all apart and put it back together and it's stopped leaking. I don't think this type of tap has washers sim. by darren

No washers, must be one of these new tap like things. They don't make em like they used to :) by sim
