recovering all contact details I had on my old iphone from our Mac. There's apparently a way to re-import them as they were when one first syncronized it with the computer. PS- got a new iphone and a new number

plug in the iPhone to the mac, enter iTunes and then click on your phone name in the left hand side menu. At the top on the right there are some tabs, open contacts and sync by sim

Once you've rescued them if you set up a Mobileme account (which you do have to pay for, it's about £60 a year), all of your emails, contacts and diary appointments will be stored in a cloud which you can access online or via iphone/ipad by Georgina
