Two good possibilities. It's difficult when falling on the ground after scoring the winning goal in the world cup and boys seem to go hand in hand. Alternatively, we could just make him wear shorts all year round! Thanks. by guy1067

I had to wear shorts at school till I was 12, even in the middle of winter when it was snowing, I would have taken the knee patch option for sure. by sim

It was the same growing up for me in NZ. I'm not sure if knee patches had made it to NZ by then? Cofacio becoming a chat service as well. by guy1067

a lot of threads carry on yes, to help with this we're developing a notification panel rather like you have on facebook so people can leave the window open and be notified without having to check their mail. by sim

Definitely knee patches, easy to put (just iron them, you don't need to sew) and very fashionable (perfect for a cool outfit!!!). Just be sure that this kind of "incident" is because he's playing... sometimes kids have interesting ways to catch our attention... by isabel

I would suggest that you put an iron-on interfacing patch on the inside of the knee of the trousers. by lizroz

I've been having that problem. Full out bribery has worked with the 5 and 4 yr old (quite simply "You stay in your bed all night and you get sweets on Friday".) Now trying this with 2 year old. Wish me luck! by bad_housewife

Definitely time for a reward chart. First night in own bed get a small reward, then something for 3 nights and something bigger for a whole week. After a spell of this with my 3yo (who does not do reward charts) I ended up doing a quick return to bed for him, after 2 nights he gave up and stayed in bed. But you mustn't give in especially when hubbie is away and a cuddle might be nice. That was my downfall!!! by soosy

It's a difficult one. I like the reward approach, unless this creates another issue which is wanting a reward for staying in bed every night. Whatever you try, the main thing is, as Soosy says - don't give up, even if they are crying and crying and crying. by guy1067

The most important thing to do is to make sure you are consistent with your child, if you decide to go with something you need to stick with it for at least a week to avoid your child becoming confused. You need to try finding out why they are coming in? just because they can?? then you need to be firm and keep taking her back until she gets bored and just stays in bed. You need to make your bedroom/bed seem really boring so she has no need to come in. by TheNurseryNurse

Hmm. I've always wanted to scan in all my old negatives so I can put them on Flickr to embarrass my sister. I think the automated systems are quite expensive but you only really need it once - does anyone know if you can rent a photo scanner? by darrenrmoore

Distraction distraction distraction!! If you make a big deal about her doing it she will do it even more. Everytime you see her doing it just try getting her to use her hands to do something else, e.g. playing with a toy or helping you. Just try not to mention the fact she is picking at her head :) by TheNurseryNurse
