How can I help my 5YO with disrupted sleep pattern? She doesn't wake us but I find in the am she has been up multiple times in the night for toilet/drinks ot has been awake reading since 4/5am!

    During the late afternoon and evening try to make sure she is always awake. Take her for a walk, play games indoor (I know it's hard work) play tea party etc, anything that keeps her excited. I reccomend taking her out to park, good fresh air, which will make her exhausted. (but do make sure she eats though) Then in evening at 8.00pm give her a bubbly bath. (before she falls asleep) and then massage her with body oil. Hopefully she will be so worn out from her outing and playing games so probably she wont wake up during the night. good luck by isabel

    Has this only been happening since Christmas? Maybe now that she is back at school she may be more tired out and sleep longer. It's difficult if she's not disturbing you. I assume you only found this out when she was absolutely shattered during the day? Let's hope it just phase she's going through! by soosy

    Sorry I missed these answers I don't seem to get any notifications anymore (after complaining I got loads on the phone app! ) It's been since the clock changed really Susie. I have subliminally put in her head that 6YO's need to sleep better because their brains are working so much harder than 5YO's and she has really latched onto that! Now if we can just shake her night time coughing we may get somewhere! by cakeshaped
