I think she might do, especially considering she'll see some acting and fancy costumes. I would be more concerned about how she would cope with having the music really loud: my daughter is nearly 4 and doesn't do cinema for this reason :) by Dolcemomo

Thankfully my little 'un loves loud noises and particularly an episode of the Zing Zillas recently with an opera singer. She's been to other theatre stuff and goes to the cinema so it should be fine. Glad you all don't think I'm crazy; it just sounds like such a great thing to do this summer. by golondon

I think at this age they adapt pretty well. My 5yo has had 3 new starters in his class in the past few months and they seem to have settled in quickly. They haven't formed 'cliques' yet so are more accommodating IMO. Good luck! Are you moving house as well? by soosy

I've listened to R4 for years. Like R7 (4pm weeknights is story time for children) R2, I defected when Terry left... As for R1, not for years, even when I was a teenager! Always preferred the commercial stations. by bad_housewife

Interesting. I can't stand commercial stations. Radio 2 on my return car journey from work is awful (Steve Wright) but finding Radio 4 quite interesting. by soosy

One of the major reasons for living in London for me is XFm - although I think you can get it in Manchester now! My friends dad always without fail used to listen to the Charts on Sunday - a tradition I've always wanted to emulate. by darrenrmoore

I like Radio 4 for the comedy and the plays, but I do enjoy Steve Wright too. Radio 5 I just cant keep the signal in the car which is a shame. How about Talk Radio or CDs? by julia1warner

I hate Steve Wright with a passion. Never liked him when he was on Radio 1 either! I've been listening to Radio 4 all my life, I think, certainly when I was in my 20s and 30s. These days I'm not very loyal to any particular station - radio 2/4/6/7, Capital occasionally, Magic or something mindless while I'm working. by Tiggertoo

Is it a big or a small present you are after? Small present wise it depends how 'plastic' you want to go. Polly pocket, my little pony. Dressing up things are popular (think Disney princess) OR you could do a nice jigsaw, my old jenga has provided hours of fun for both playing and building brick/domino toppling potential. Dominos or a 'family' game - kerplunk goes down well here. by cakeshaped
