There are specific kitchen wallpapers - you want something you can wipe down easily. I wouldn't get anything that you couldn't do that to. by heatherannetaylor

I'm a paint fan - you can easily wipe off or even paint over food splashes - then use fabrics or pictures to add interest. I maintain the imperfections in our badly plastered kitchen walls add a bit of character! by Sarson

A ground source heat pump should be ideal if you a little land too, you can also run it backwards in the summer to recharge the ground and cool your house if necessary. by darren

The question is whether the change in colour would materially affect the external appearance of the building. In England, I would say that you would not require permission to paint the walls a different colour, even in a Conservation Area. However, I know that you are in Scotland, where I would need to check the legislation. In most cases I would suggest you contact the Conservation Officer at your local authority. A quick phone call will usually suffice, unless you have a grumpy neighbour who you think may complain and then I would recommend you ask them to put it in writing. The Conservation Officer would of course be able to suggest appropriate colours, but they would not be able to make you paint them that colour. by soosy

I'd say sales no because you need people in market. At MS they ran finance and training out of one country for Europe. Other companies do the same with HR. Legal and high level marketing are also candidates. by simstew

Is it a painted wall? If so wait till he stops painting the wall and then paint over it. Some parents let their kids draw on their bedroom wall so they then don't paint elsewhere. Later as above. by sim

PS Sim seriously about some parents letting children draw on bedroom walls. I am appalled, that is just encouraging a lack of respect to the world around them. How about giving them an easel and paper... and then framing the good bits to foster a sense of pride? by bad_housewife

uff, I feel told off :) Yes, I can see your point, I think the idea is that the child is allowed their own space and they learn for themselves, I think a wall can be repainted very easily, and if it's their bedroom then why not, they live with what they draw after all, I would be totally against them drawing on other people's property by sim

You can buy blackboard paint that you can paint on if you were following Sim's advice. In our house my boys know "you on drawing on paper". Despite that we do have accidental pen marks on our white walls in the lounge and we just paint over the areas with more white paint when the marks become too obvious. by soosy

It's utilising social applications like Faceook, LinkedIn, You Tube, Twitter, Blogging, Flickr and so on to spread the word on what you're doing. That's the simplest way of explaining it but there's obviously quite a bit more involved. by socialmediaadvice
