Lovely walk in Clapton Area. Head to Millfields rec ground, nearby Lea Bridge Road. Get down onto the footpath that runs alongside the River Lee. Walk along this towards Springfield Park - cross over bridge and walk around Walthamstow Marshes - nature reserve type place with wooden walkways. Take binoculars to watch nature. Stop for a snack either at the cafe at the top of Springfield Park, or the Cafe on the River Lee opposite the Springfield Marina next door to the rowing club. Have fun! by Mark

the river walk in Wapping is very nice and goes along next to all the new developments and old refurbished warehouses. There's are some nice pubs along the way for a drink or some food, the Captain Kidd is good. On the south side of the river the walk through Bermondsey is nice, the Mayflower is a good pub to stop at there. by sim

Take the overground to Chingford and take a walk in Epping Forest. Great for these new Summer evenings by Lucy

You can get half price theatre tickets to all National Theatre plays - you just have to turn up on the morning you want to go & wait til the ticket office opens at 9.30am. Arrive early to avoid disappointment, and take a cushion! (7am if it's a popular play) by eamc

It's not quite Boutique but the Victoria Hotel in Beeston has a certain real ale/beardy charm. Probably not up to scratch though in this case. by darrenrmoore
