research the company, any press releases, share price, latest news. think of answers to obvious questions like; why do you want this job? what are your strengths/weaknesses? can you tell me about a time when you...lead a team/overcame a difficulty/had to show intiative etc. good luck!! by communityjules

Practicing in front of a mirror helps more than we think, we are not naturally very self-aware :) I do think that apart from being yourself and not avoiding eye contact, there are 5 questions you would be asked anywhere, would probably be at an early stage and can turn them on or put them off totally: how would you describe yourself, why did you leave your last job/or why are you considering doing it, name 2 or 3 of your most rewarding achievements (personal or professional), what are your short-to-long term career objectives, why should I hire you? by Dolcemomo

I told my boy that if he caught that pigeon/cat/squirrel up ahead of us in the park, he was allowed to take it to nursery. Used to work a treat, the head teacher was happy to agree that he could bring them in too! He also enjoyed (still does) finding sticks to take with him. How about a balance bike? If he takes to it, it can be quite fast, just make sure it's a light weight one in case you have to carry it home. by Anytar

I think Anytar has a good idea with the balance bike, will be quicker and more fun. My daughter is 3 and even though she can walk 500 meters it's a long way for her to walk without a break. by sim

We've tried him with him pushing a buggy but the way home was difficult when he decided it wasn't fun anymore, so I had to carry that and hold two boys' hands! The balance bike was a disaster last week just havin a go in the garden. by soosy

He's a stubborn boy and just stands still waiting to be picked up. If we walk on he is quite happy to stay where he is, then I lose my nerve as it's a busy road and worry he has no road sense. by soosy

How about giving him a cheap pedometer to see how many steps it takes? See if it is different each time? Super Nanny did something once with a treasure hunt type thing with stuff to spot on the way to school. by Anytar

May be he needs more incentive to walk. You could break the walk down into shorter sections. Set him the challenge of walking to a certain point. Praise him when he achieves this and extend the distance next time. Some children respond well to star charts. by Sarson

Gosh, I am mean (but I had to be, having 3 under 3...) I have a rule that as soon as you hit 3 you are out of the pram and it is only for babies. The school run is 1 mile round trip. It was never up for debate. by bad_housewife

Tried it today with 2 1/4 year old. Just did not take pram and refused to carry. She did it more than easily. Just make sure you have plenty of time and a book to read to them at the other end, in case by some MIRACLE they don't stop to prod every wall crevice on the route. by bad_housewife

I know he is more than capable of walking it (he can walk a mile round a field looking at sheep) but with the pressure of his brother getting to school on time he simply refuses. On school pick up he even knows he could have play on the slide before the big ones come out. Still, when he starts school in Sept he will have no choice! by soosy

Today we succeeded! I simply refused to carry him and I was very patient. Before we left we decided on three things we had to see on our journey which seemed to help with distractions. Thanks for all your tips. by soosy
