I love Skye; but even better try Orkney and Shetland - quite remote and windswept but really atmospheric. Skye I remember fondly for geology and whisky by darrenrmoore

Depends on what you want - Colonsay is just lovely virtually no traffic, so you can walk or cycle everywhere, has a glorious beach and you can easily get to Islay for days out. by rainboweffect
