Baby Bellings are the obvious suggestion. Can you still get those? Although they don't solve your need for rings, a combination cooker can be very useful. They work as a microwave and / or a conventional oven but use significantly less power. Another option is the small but incredibly useful Remoska. They come from Lakeland and are so popular they have their own fan club! They're great energy savers, so instead of heating up the entire oven for some garlic bread or jacket potatoes, you can pop them in here instead. Everything from pizzas to a chicken and roast spuds can go in there. I think it heats up to 190, and you can even take it on holiday to use in your caravan or in self catering. Sorry. I'm not paid by Lakeland or anything, but I think these things that use on average 80% less power than a conventional oven are just a really great idea. But it can't help you for your hot plate. :-( by Siobhan

Thanks Siobhan, checked out the Lakeland website. The remoska looks great, although as you said we'd need to get a separate hotplate. Baby Bellings are still made, but I don't think our power supply would be adequate. by Sarson

Sarson needs help with mini oven (electric) to use in summer when we switch off our Aga. Can anyone recommend one that has an oven and 2 rings? I haven't found any yet which have received good reviews.

soosy needs help with Does anyone know which mobile phone company used to be one 2 one. I have no Orange reception at my house and thinking of changes providers. The nearest mast was approved for one 2 one.

Mercury --> one2one --> T-Mobile. I used to use them. I'm now with Orange, but thinking of returning to T-Mobile... However, you don't get the special deal for free cinema tickets with T-Mobile, so consider that if you are a cinema goer! by Amunt

Thanks, T-Mobile it may have to be. I have checked the network coverages and T mobile has the best coverage for my village. Orange I can only get a connection if I stand in my back garden! by soosy

Be careful - this is not true for the whole country. Virgin Mobile uses Everything Everywhere network, which is a joint venture between T-Mobile and Orange. It will depende on the local base station. However, Soosy, you should be able to use your Orange phone on the T-Mobile network now, free-of-charge (to join up) - Register your interest on www.orange.co.uk/share - and say you want to use the T-Mobile network for free. They've been offering this since last month... and it's all part of them now all being part of Everything Everywhere. Look into it: you may not need to change your network, you can still stay with Orange, but piggyback for no extra charge on the T-Mobile network. by Amunt

We've been with Direct Travel Insurance (http://www.direct-travel.co.uk/) for the last few years. Good price, excellent cover and no problems so far. I haven't needed to claim yet but I know a few people who have and it's gone through with no problems. by ollieclark
