my plum tree has too much fruit. It is so laden that one of the branches has snapped off. What shold I do to prevent others breaking?

    Hi Rich, I assume the fruit isn't ripe otherwise you'd be picking it to solve the problem. I'd use some wooden supports, long poles (even a ladder) wedged under the branches. by sim

    Staking can help but you might want to thin some of the plums out. I know it seems like a waste but the ones left will be better for it and it might help the following years crop too - or it may go the other way and you get next to no fruit next year. by cakeshaped

    It's hard to know without seeing the tree - try removing some off the smaller or blighted ones and see if that helps the weight on the branch - just take it slow and steady. Then go with Sims staking idea. by cakeshaped
