bad_housewife needs help with entertaining a group of 30/40 something years ladies (about 12 to 20 of them) for an evening to celebrate the end of tap dancing term. HELP! What food? What drink? Do I decorate? Do I have ambient music? Small talk? I NEVER entertain. I need serious help.

Have a theme. Perhaps people could bring some food/ drink that relates to the theme. How about a 1970s or 80s theme? Then you could have the music playing in the background, get peop chatting about music of that era, classic drinks from then (soda stream), blackforest gateau etc etc etc by soosy

I'd recommend an apple, carrot and beetroot drink. Put them in a blender and get a healthy drink thats good for digestion. Bit of an acquired taste though. by arbymore

You might be able to roast them - I've heard that works better with unripe pears. Or, you could pickle them or try a chutney? by Shut up and listen

I know people use them for wine/cider because freecycle has been full of requests lately :-) Pretty sure you can cut up and freeze for later use. Probably too late this answer now. by cakeshaped

It might depend on the kind of apples! (or pears). Some are better for cider than others, and some apples will definitely be better for cooking. You could probably chutney them though. by Shut up and listen
